It is a pleasure to share with you the coffee grown by our family for 3 generations, grown and harvested by Argemiro Marín Chavarriaga, our uncle, in the mountains of Betulia (Antioquia) to 1850 m.a.s.l, in one of the most important coffee growing areas of Colombia.
Argemiro is a coffee farmer from birth, he learned the trade from his father Juan Bautista.
La Finca el Llano inherited it from his father and today at 74 years old continues to produce exceptional coffee, processed by himself in a traditional way, despite the difficulties involved in growing coffee in mountains with such steep incline.
For the first time an exclusive batch of this coffee crosses the Atlantic Ocean, without being mixed with other origins, taking care of every detail to bring you only the better quality.
Processed coffee using the “Washed” technique, which involves drying the coffee beans after removing the skin and pulp from the fruit in a process called pulping. Only the coffee seeds are left wrapped in a dense layer of honey-like substance called mucilage, which is washed off in large water tanks to remove it, hence its name “washed”. With the seed residue-free, it is dried in the sun on sliding roofs or drying yards.
The washing process has evolved to be more environmentally friendly, which has led to less water being used per kilogram of washed coffee and the remaining water after the process being treated for reuse.
We recommend grinding the right amount of coffee before its preparation, so you can enjoy the drink at its best. That is why we offer it in whole grain, but if you want it ground, select the option here depending on the type of coffee maker you use at home.
